Yasuo

the Unforgiven

An Ionian of deep resolve, Yasuo is an agile swordsman who wields the air itself against his enemies. As a proud young man, he was falsely accused of murdering his master—unable to prove his innocence, he was forced to slay his own brother in self defense. Even after his master's true killer was revealed, Yasuo still could not forgive himself for all he had done, and now wanders his homeland with only the wind to guide his blade.

Yasuo Guide

Overview

Are you a true Yasuo main if you haven’t ever reached the 0-10 power spike? Yasuo is the kind of champion that attracts players who don’t know when to give up -- they will always feel like they can fight. He’s a champion with a high skill ceiling and great opportunity for outplays. Click here for the latest data on his best builds, including Runes, Items, Summoner Spells, and more.

Top 3 Things to Remember About Yasuo

  1. Using minion waves and jungle camps to enable your mobility is what separates good from great when it comes to Yasuo -- always be aware of where you can use Sweeping Blade to create space and new angles to reach your opponents.

  2. A well-timed Wind Wall can make or break a fight, so it’s important to know what your enemies are capable of. Identify their most important abilities and save Wind Wall for that!

  3. Even the tiniest displacement can enable Last Breath, so don’t be afraid to spam the R key if you’re in a tight situation with a lot of teammates near you. It’s a great tool to kick off a fight

Strengths

If you can force the enemy laner to blow their abilities, Yasuo is going to win the exchange of auto attacks thanks to being able to spam Steel Tempest. You can also go in for a knock up and then dash back out before they’re able to respond -- even throwing in a Wind Wall means that Yasuo has many timings where he can secure favorable exchanges. He pairs extremely well with a team that can knock up opponents for him easily.

Weaknesses

Without teammates that provide knockup, it can be very difficult to find good Last Breaths, as Yasuo’s range on his own knockup is limited and requires some setup to even use in the first place. Timing your Wind Wall incorrectly can also lead to death, as will roaming through the river and being caught out without any minions to jump to. Yasuo is very easy to kill if he’s caught out.

Game Plan

  1. Early Game: Play aggressively, especially with your Steel Tempest knockup, and look for favorable trades with Sweeping Blade. Your kill pressure is going to be lower until you gain your ultimate, but you can still establish a great presence in the lane with consistent damage output.

  2. Mid Game: Look to group up with teammates who can provide an easy knock up and don’t be afraid to go in when given the chance, especially if you are in a long lane with minions to retreat to or chase forward with.

  3. Late Game: Yasuo excels in long lanes once the towers start to fall and can be a menace for anyone looking to run away from him. In team fights, look for flanks or wait for a teammate to get a good knockup for you.
