Tristana is a marksman that will have your team screaming “No!” as you leap onto an enemy just to watch you kill them and jump back to safety. Top 3 Things to Remember About Tristana

1. Buster Shot is best used when you’ve landed Explosive Charge on an enemy and have them at critical health. You can blast them away and wait for the charge to finish them!

2. Rocket Jump’s resets mean you can be very aggressive at chasing kills, as you’ll have a way to retreat, but make sure you track enemy CC abilities before going in!

3. Tristana can have a lot of lane pressure thanks to her passive, which means you’ll frequently be at the enemy tower. Using Explosive Shot there can earn you some plates!

Strengths

Marksmen are typically the main turret takers for any given team, and Tristana in particular excels at it thanks to Explosive Charge. She’s a champion that can play well in side lanes as well if you have a support who is capable of roaming frequently. Her Rocket Jump and ability to peel for herself with Buster Shot means she’s very difficult to kill, and oftentimes you’ll only die if you are the one who committed to the fight in the first place. She has a lot of potential to carry fights in the late game if she’s able to get resets with her jump. 

Weaknesses

Giving any squishy champion the ability to jump right into an opponent’s face has, for fifteen years now, been a recipe for disaster for all the best of players. It can be very tempting to jump in after a low health enemy only to watch them get away as you die and can’t jump back. Her pushing power also means she can be susceptible to ganks because of her lane frequently being pushed up. 

Game Plan 

1. Early Game: You’ll scale with items and levels, so play it safe until you can start getting some abilities online. That said, if you’re able to get chip damage with explosive shot, you have opportunities to all-in with Rocket Jump!

2. Mid Game: You’re very good at pushing in waves and should look to do so wherever your team needs it most. Trist can jump on any squishy enemies -- even solo laners -- if she sees them use all their abilities to clear a wave!

3. Late Game: As a champion with hyper carry potential, you’ll want to prioritize your life above everyone else’s, but if you see opportunities for multiple kills with your Rocket Jump, then being able to toe that line between glory and death is what separates good Tristana players from bad ones.
