Morgana

the Fallen

Conflicted between her celestial and mortal natures, Morgana bound her wings to embrace humanity, and inflicts her pain and bitterness upon the dishonest and the corrupt. She rejects laws and traditions she believes are unjust, and fights for truth from the shadows of Demacia—even as others seek to repress it—by casting shields and chains of dark fire. More than anything else, Morgana truly believes that even the banished and outcast may one day rise again.

Morgana Guide

Overview

Do you want to make sure your opponents can’t move with just one single button? That’s Morgana. Her bind is notorious for having one of the longest durations in the game, and the combination of CC and support has made her a support pick that’s well picked into teams with a lot of CC. Click here for the latest data on her best builds, including Runes, Items, Summoner Spells, and more.

Keys to Remember About Morgana

  1. Teams can burst you down during your ultimate before you purchase Zhonya's Hourglass, so make sure you have some support before trying to make a big play.

  2. Your binding has very slow projectile speed, so you'll want to fire it off from fog of war to minimize chances an opponent can dodge it.

Strengths

Morgana has two key abilities that make her difficult to deal with. The first is Dark Binding [Q], which is an excellent tool for generating kills as it will make it extremely easy for your allies to follow up. In lane phase, this means as long as you land the bind and your jungler is approaching, enemies will need to flash or risk death. In mid and late game, you can hide in fog of war and look to get a binding onto a key carry -- landing even one can trigger your team’s go-button. The second ability, and the one that thrusted her into the support role, is her Black Shield [E] -- this will allow your carries to fight with impunity as they will be immune to CC for a short duration.

Weaknesses

She is very squishy, and if you can jump on her, that means she may be forced to use the Black Shield [E] on herself instead of saving it for an ally. Tormented Pool [W] and Soul Shackles [R] also don’t synergize as well with the support role -- while you can land a good R, you can also sometimes be bursted down before the stun goes off (which is why she often builds Zhonya’s Hourglass). The Dark Binding [Q] is also fairly easy to dodge if they see it coming, which means you’ll need to control vision in late game scenarios.

Game Plan

  1. Early Game: You can help push with W if your bot lane partner wants to keep the lane shoved in, but generally you want to try to maintain bush control so you can fire off Dark Bindings [Q] at will to go for kills.

  2. Mid Game: You can roam around with your stronger solo laners or junglers to support their plays -- you can look for picks with your Q.

  3. Late Game: Stick with your team and save your shield for your carry -- it doesn’t necessarily have to be the ADC. You can look for bindings to start fights if your team wants to fight or save it to help peel back.
